I’ve been checking on these apricot blossoms just about every day for a couple weeks now. You can see the petals are starting to split just a little at the tips, so they really should open up any day now.

This was the first green I discovered in my garden this year. Picture taken February 26 after I raked a clump of leaves away from the base of this raspberry plant. What a beautiful surprise.

I’m drawn to using yellow eyes. Aren’t they arresting?

I really like the way the texture in her hair turned out. And, no, I can’t do hands at all yet. I first envisioned this as a girl with vines of flowers woven through her hair and adorning her clothes, a sort of woman of the meadows. I’m a learning artist and gardener, and I’m glad to have a way to share my work. Let me know if you like something, or if you have any questions about it. I took my county’s Master Gardener course last year and will be glad to share any insights I have. As for art, I’m untrained except for any instructional books I pick up to work through on my own — I’ll try to post about those. I hope you find something here that interests you.
