Year two in my yard for this tree. Last year this tree grew five branches straight up, at least a couple feet above the rest of the tree. the first green, 2021
I spotted my first green growth of the year yesterday. These chives were weak enough last year (their first year, grown from seed) that I wasn’t sure I’d really see them again. But here they are, bringing some early strong green to my garden.

I’ve been checking on these apricot blossoms just about every day for a couple weeks now. You can see the petals are starting to split just a little at the tips, so they really should open up any day now.
the first green
This was the first green I discovered in my garden this year. Picture taken February 26 after I raked a clump of leaves away from the base of this raspberry plant. What a beautiful surprise.
